Speech Language Pathologist
Kathleen started her career where she ended her graduate studies-at Rehabilitation Specialists. This was her last internship through Duquesne University starting mid 2012 and she never left! Still an active practicing speech therapist, Kathleen is now also the owner and director of Rehab. Specialists and truly loves her job. Special interests lie in childhood apraxia of speech (you can check out her profile on apraxia-kids.org here), early childhood literacy and language skills, and working with people with neurodiversities. In addition, she serves as a clinical supervisor to graduate students and volunteers her time to her alma mater, Duquesne University's Rangos School of Health Sciences.
Kathleen discovered in adulthood she has a diagnosis of ADHD and is neurodivergent herself. She feels that this is her superpower, though, as it helps her relate to so many of her clients on a more personal level.
When not working, you can find her caring for her many plants, DIYing a house project with her husband, or working on a crafting project with her two small children.
